Our DOTOMOTO instructor Jamila Kendall is a panist in the Atlanta area. She has performed throughout the Northeast United States from Boston to Maryland with a base in Brooklyn, NY. She has traveled other parts of the world, for example, to Trinidad international steelpan competition. Jamila has been playing the steel pan since the tender age 8, and it is the root of her lifelong passion for music. Jamila has studied jazz, classical, calypso, soca, reggae, and Latin music under the C.A.S.Y.M. Steel Orchestra out of Brooklyn, N.Y. She has been featured on Sesame Street, Nickalodeon, FX, and NY Daily News to name a few. She is always ready to share her knowledge.
